Biscuit Design

Last week Charlie was the first to present his biscuits. They looked good and tasted great! It's going to be a tough competition!

Hector the little Penguin by Ben B

“Hector I want one!” “Hector I want one!” “Hector, Hector!!”

Our story begins at a rough, rocky shore in Oamaru where we find Hector the little blue penguin. Hector was an inventor and a good one too. Hector just invented the slingshot.

That’s why everyone was shouting “Hector I want one,” “Hector, Hector!” The only problem was he also was a shy penguin and that was always the problem. He’d been shy all his life.

Everyone was still standing at his hole so he put a big box of slingshots outside his hole and went back underground.

As darkness fell over the beach Hector got very excited. In fact it was the only time of the day he got excited. Then it was dark and Hector snuck out of his hole and had the time of his life. Then dawn broke and Hector knew he had to go back in his hole.

When he got to his hole he saw a small penguin child with a broken toy plane in its wings, it was crying. Then Hector forgot all about his shyness and said gently “I’ll fly it for you.”
“Really?” said the little penguin.
“Yes,” he said and from that day on Hector was never shy again.

So the message of this story is don’t be shy.

The Perf Dolphins and Jo-Jo by Trish

BOOM! And there he is the most surprising, insane, unbelievable purple penguin in the whole world it’s Jo-Jo. Jo-Jo is a purple his tummy is white he has blue eyes has a lot of personality’s.

Jo-Jo is playing with his friends and having a fun time. But here they come the perf dolphins they always think they are so perfect and make everyone else feel bad. Jo-Jo and his friends go to a sunny beach and play all day.5 hours later the perf dolphins go up to Jo-Jo and said “ what are you doing here your not perfect go away”. Said the perf dolphins. Jo-Jo was really hurt but he didn’t like what they said. It went on for a while. But one day Jo-Jo was going to tell them what he was feeling. So Jo-Jo went to the perf dolphins and said “stop being mean to me because no one is perfect so just stop it and leave me alone. The next day the perf dolphins stopped being mean and they stopped calling themselves the perf dolphins. The dolphins and Jo-Jo became friends and played all day.

My message was no one’s is perfect.

Shartzo the Hero by Laura

On the night Aphrodite went missing the police came to see who was there at the time.” She’s a mortal” said one of the police officers “yea she won’t die!” said another. Aphrodite was the goddess of love. She was from the peace kingdom. her father was zuse .the God of thunder and lighting .Aphrodite mother was unknown... Aphrodite had one daughter called shartzo.

Shartzo was a nice little girl. She didn’t think much of her self. Aphrodite didn’t care for shartzo like other mothers would because she had a big job to do...make everyone love everyone no matter what!

Shartzo was grateful for all she had but when her mother went missing she turned into a nasty little girl she hated some people that she was friends with and she vandalised.

Shartzo was staying with her grandfather. She then went up to him and asked him, “I want to go find my mother! Now!” Zuse then said “no! You are being very nasty! How could I trust you with the sword of justice!” the sword of justice was a very important sword it was the important sword of history!”I will change my ways, am being selfish...” mumbled shartzo “very well then...” said zuse

So shartzo went of to find his mother in the meadow because in that meadow there is a old creepy house... it’s a wreaked havoc! Shartzo then went inside the house and she saw a piece of paper on the ground... it was Aphrodite’s handwriting it said “come find me in the woods ASAP” shartzo then ran away.

Shartzo ran and ran and she saw something! A big monster it was as weird as a donkey and as fat as a pig! It then yelled at shartzo “I come in wonder, do you know me because no one knows me!” shartzo then ran away as fast as she could to the place Aphrodite said she was.

2 hours later after searching for ages, shartzo she then saw a person behind a tree she then ran up to it and hugged it. Then she said “mother oh mother I have found you at last!” then a creature turned around and it ran away! Shartzo yelled “ahhhhh!” she knew what she hugged...it was big foot! Shartzo had enough! She then ran back to be were zuse was. “Grandfather oh grandfather! I failed I failed big time!” zuse then said “don’t worry child Aphrodite’s a mortal she will never die!

And till this day Aphrodite remands hidden for nobody to see!

The Greedy Dolphin by Utu

Once there was a greedy dolphin who wanted everything to himself.  The Dolphins name is Sky who lived in a crystal clear ocean that was busy as the governments meetings, who had only one friend named fishy the fish.         

One day some fishermen scooped up all the red juicy jellyfish in the sea and now there was only three red jelly fish left in the sea. While Sky the dolphin took his usual swim he found the three juicy jellyfish and then ate one now there were only two left in the whole sea .When the other dolphins heard the news they came as fast as their tails could take them then gathered around him thinking  the greediest dolphin would ‘SHARE’ with them but  he never did then gulped down the two juicy jellyfish .When the fishermen heard about the problem they felt guilty and started feeding the dolphins every time except ‘SKY’ who now lives by himself cause his only friend saw the real him on that day. The problem was never solved and Sky lives by himself retelling ‘Why did I do that’.

Reading Contract Reward

We were lucky to have another reading contract reward. This time we made rain jackets out of plastic bags. These are the finished products.
